This is my very first Knit A Long ever, so please bear with me. I want to host a KAL for knitters who design. I usually get left out of KALs because I make up my own designs a lot of the time. So, if you like to knit from your own head/heart but would like the community and support that comes with a KAL, well than you will find it here.

I hope you'll keep this KAL going. I have a number of projects started and planned that are from published patterns, but I want to make a sweater later in the year from my own design, and I've just started to think about it. I'll probably be ready to swatch it later in the spring. This is a wonderful idea for a KAL.

I'm not sure I qualify, but I want to go further in learning to design. I often take a basic pattern and use different stiches, necklines, sleeves and fittings, or most commonly convert ideas using different guages. Not quite original, but heading that way. Is that ok?
